La Marque -
At a regularly scheduled meeting of the
Galveston County Health District’s
4C’s Clinic’s Governing Board
on August 26th, members accepted the resignation
of long time board member Thelma Logan.
Ms. Logan served on the board for eight
years and most recently held the position
of Board Chair.
Board members held an election to fill
the position left vacant by Ms. Logan’s
departure and Brian Maxwell, representing
UTMB on the Governing Board was elected
President. Maxwell has been serving as
Secretary-Treasurer and Ms. Virginia Valentino
was elected to fill that position. Ms.
Valentino is a consumer representative
on the board and an educator at Our Lady

Dr. Mark Guidry, Galveston County Health
Authority and Chief Executive Officer
for the Health District says, “Board
members give their time and support to
Health District priorities and activities
and have done much to improve and enhance
the quality of services offered in our
4 C’s clinics to all users and in
particular to local senior citizens utilizing
the services offered.”
Board members also heard a report on a
two month NurseLine pilot project. Members
of the community can call directly to
the line and speak with a nurse that can
assist them with health questions, and
access to 4 C’s clinic services.
A motion was made and accepted to now
