Animal Resource Center Observes Thanksgiving and Grand Opening

Galveston County and Cities – Galveston County Judge Mark Henry, participating city officials and the Galveston County Health District will conduct a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for the county's new Animal Resource Center, Monday November 28th at 9:30 a.m.
Located at 3412 Loop 197 North in Texas City the Animal Resource Center was approved by county voters in 2008. The new Resource Center will more than double the space of the existing facility, and provide for a much more public friendly environment.
There will be limited on-site parking at the Center for the grand opening. Staff will be present directing attendees to additional off-site parking with complimentary shuttle service.
In preparation for the event, and also observance of Thanksgiving, the Resource Center will be closed Thursday, November 24th through Sunday, November 27th. While closed local law enforcement should be contacted for bite reports and assistance.
