Burned Puppy Needs Home

UPDATED: 6:26 pm CDT July 6, 2011

TEXAS CITY, Texas -- A 6-month-old puppy that was burned by a scalding liquid and then abandoned needs a home, shelter officials said Wednesday.

The black Lab-mix was named Cosmo when he was brought into the Galveston County Animal Shelter 10 days ago.

Shelter officials said despite Cosmo's painful injuries, the puppy is loving and playful.

Officials are investigating the case, but so far have no clues as to what happened to Cosmo or who the previous owners may have been.

To adopt Cosmo, contact the Galveston County Shelter, 3412 Loop 197 N. in Texas City, at 409-948-2485.
